  • TRAUMA INFORMED CARE 101

    This part 1 of a 2-part training will explore the definition of trauma, how it impacts our lives long after we experienced any type of trauma, and best practices for working with trauma-impacted individuals.

    This training is offered as a 1-hour training

    OUTCOMES

    Establish a common definition of what trauma is. Understand how trauma impacts individuals in the short-term and long-term and discuss the Principles of Trauma Informed Care as a best practice.

    TRAUMA INFORMED CARE 202

    This part 2 of a 2-part training will continue the conversation of trauma and trauma-impacted individuals by further exploring practices through scenario & roleplay activities, as well as start to look at how trauma impacts whole communities and environments and how to enact change on a larger scale.

    This training is offered as a 4-hour an 8-hour training and two-day workshop

    OUTCOMES

    Look at how trauma impacts communities and environments. Explore your organizational approaches to Trauma Informed Care. Practice applying the principles to all levels of client interaction. Understand the importance of self-care & community-care as a Trauma Informed practice.

    This initial training module will focus on defining Trauma Informed Care and overviews brain and early development in the context of how trauma impacts brain development and creates an ACE score. It discusses the role of the regulation and sensory systems in terms of developing healthy self-regulation and attachments.

    Early Childhood Professionals

    A group of teachers will engage in intensive discussion and will role play on particular subjects. In this training the definition of ACES will be explained, and each participant will be given the opportunity to take their own ACE test. Watch a short video and analyzed.

    Trainings will dive deep into Implicit Bias and how this affects your views, behaviors and clients. We conduct role plays, quote literature, intimate conversation, play games

    Re-entry population

    Staff will listen and engage with guest speaker while he/she expresses firsthand experiences of childhood trauma. Staff members that are not trained in trauma informed care and how that affected them. Staff will have the chance to role play and create a story that demonstrates their new skills of applying trauma informed care in their workplace and communities.

    Foster Youth

    Training gives statistics and testimonies from current and former youth and their life experiences. This training helps professionals understand life from the eyes of youth and gives solutions on how to apply trauma informed care practices to your everyday workflow.

    African American population

    If your staff works with African American clients and they find themselves triggering them and having a difficult time gaining their respect. This training allows your staff to ask African American men and women questions to help better understand the daily triggers and difficulties they encounter. Through role plays and open dialogue, your staff will be able to practice a safer approach that with time, will foster less hostile work environments for your staff.

  • LGBTQ+

    During this training participants will have the opportunity to learn up to date terms and key words that are appropriate to use while working this population. They will be a quest speaker sharing their story and answering taboo questions.

    Military

    During this training, we will listen to traumatic events that took place in the military and how best to ensure these things are address. There will one on one engagement, skits and games provided to create a team atmosphere.

    Department of Motor Vehicles

    This training is diving deep into the county wide perception of the secondary trauma experienced in this department. Participants will learn strategies and apply compassion and empathy to their daily wok practices.

    Police Department

    During this Trauma Informed training, the participants will gain an understand about ACE score, secondary trauma, and ways to de-escalate a person who has experienced trauma.

    Fire Department

    The participants in this training will development a deep understand on ways to communicate with the communities they serve to decrease the change of secondary trauma.
