Meet Our CEO
In her an early adolescence, Kemiah experienced many traumatic events. Carrying the trauma within her led to many triggers, causing PTSD, anxiety and depression. Growing up, she lacked the skills needed to build healthy relationships. Her poor emotional intelligence mixed with her anxiety caused many challenges for her. Kemiah noticed the staff at a variety of locations, lacked the skills, knowledge and experience to apply compassion and empathy when interacting with her.
Understanding the benefits of healing, Kemiah dedicated a decade to therapy and self-development. As Kemiah learned more about herself and her life’s mission, she developed a passion for social work and education. In both professions of education and social work, there was an incessant narrative of treating colleagues, clients and children with a lack of compassion and empathy. With having an increased amount of empathy, this was very difficult for Kemiah to witness.
Using her experiences as motivation, Kemiah began establishing a business that educates organizations on empathizing with colleagues and clients. In hopes of bringing awareness to the importance of secondary trauma, the founder of KDTI asks that you join her in her quest of healing trauma with one agency at a time.
